Tuition and fees are due by the first day of classes each semester, so the deadline you should adhere to is: “AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.” If you need financial aid to help you pay for your college expenses (tuition, fees, books, housing, meals, etc.), then it is in your best interest to complete all applications as soon as possible. Financial aid cannot be processed if you miss deadlines; therefore, you must review the financial aid programs and apply timely. Most financial aid programs cannot be processed during the last week of a semester. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted BEFORE the last week of a semester; however, if you wait until such a late date, there is still no guarantee that financial aid can be processed before the last day of the semester. If financial aid eligibility cannot be determined while you are enrolled, you may be charged a late payment fee, be dropped from your classes, or both, per the institution’s policy for non-payment.
The last date to submit a 2022-2023 FAFSA for summer 2023 is June 30, 2023.
Fall 2022 Semester: June 1, 2022
Spring 2023 Semester: December 1, 2022
Summer 2023 Semester: May 1, 2023
MACC may only accept and process financial aid documents when the documents are submitted by secure means as determined by the U.S. Department of Education.
Be sure to write your MACC ID# on all documents before submitting. Do not include your Social Security Number.
Some reminders when sending in documents from a phone:
Google Drive (free & downloadable from any app store) is a commonly used scanning app
iPhones also offer a scanning option within the “Notes” app which is pre-downloaded in all iPhones
There are many other photo-to-PDF scanning apps available from the Android and Apple apps stores.
When emailing documents to the MACC Financial Aid Office, remember to send them from the student’s MACC-issued email account. This will help protect the security of emailed documents and allow staff members to quickly verify to which student the documents belong.
