New Traditions Scholarships

New Traditions Institutional Scholarship applications are available online as part of the online MACC Institutional Scholarship application within the Financial Aid tab in the ‘Services’ menu. The application deadline for MACC Institutional Scholarships is April 1 for the following fall semester.

Applications for private New Traditions scholarships and Displaced Homemaker Fee Waivers can be made during the first month of the semesters in which they are awarded.

New Traditions Scholarship Form

Most New Traditions Scholarships are awarded according to a prioritized needs assessment.  Students must complete the online application to be considered for the scholarships. 

For consideration for New Traditions Institutional Scholarships, Displaced Homemaker Fee Waivers and private scholarships, recipients must be enrolled at Moberly Area Community College in a degree-seeking program and be in good academic standing. They must also meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Displaced Homemaker
• Nontraditional Student
• Limited English Proficiency
• Dislocated Worker
• Girls and Women aged 15-25
• Single Parent
• Economically Disadvantaged
• Disability
• Returning Adult Student

Displaced Homemaker Fee Waivers:

– Widowed, divorced, or disabled spouse
– Un- or under-employed, or experiencing re-entry into employment
– In need of vocational skills/training in order to support self and/or family

Must be enrolled in a vocational program, making satisfactory academic progress (GPA 2.5 or higher). Only covers unmet need for tuition, fees, books, and supplies. The recipient cannot be over awarded from another funding source, e.g. Pell Grant, GAMM. Renewable depending on availability of funds. This comes from a DESE allocation specifically for this purpose.

Institutional Scholarships:

Enrolled in at least 9 college-level credit hours in a career and technical program (developmental classes do not count). $500 per semester. Renewable for one consecutive semesters if a 2.5 GPA is maintained. Maximum of five awarded annually.

Private Scholarships:

These scholarships are provided by organizations/businesses and/or individuals and may vary semester to semester. Awards vary and may have specific requirements for recipients.

Recipient must meet New Traditions Scholarship eligibility criteria and reside in Randolph County.

Carolee Hazlet Scholarship
Recipient must meet New Traditions Scholarship eligibility criteria

Darrell Stuart Memorial Scholarship
Recipient must meet New Traditions eligibility criteria with preference to student pursuing business/marketing degree.

Grimshaw & Associates Scholarship
Recipient must meet New Traditions eligibility criteria with preference to student pursuing accounting degree.

Kimberlee Enochs Keithley Memorial Scholarship
Returning adult student who meets New Traditions’ eligibility criteria.

Missouri Association for Family and Community Education
Returning adult woman student who meets New Traditions’ eligibility criteria and resides in Randolph County

New Traditions Advisory Committee
Recipients must meet New Traditions eligibility criteria and make satisfactory academic progress (GPA 2.5 or better)

Recipient must meet New Traditions Scholarship eligibility criteria and reside in Randolph County

Ruth Lawrence Memorial Scholarship
Returning adult student who meets New Traditions’ eligibility criteria.

Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Ladies Auxiliary to Post 2654
Recipient must meet New Traditions Scholarship eligibility criteria and reside in Randolph County – Preference given to veterans
