Using the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED™) approved curriculum and a team of certified instructors from Boone County Joint Communications, MACC prepares students to obtain their certification as an Emergency Telecommunicator (ETC). The course is designed to train those unfamiliar with emergency communication centers, emergency telecommunication technology, interpersonal communication, legal issues, job stress factors, and other related topics.

The program takes an integrated teaching approach that features comprehensive content, multimedia presentations, and hands-on training. Certification as an IAED ETC satisfies the basic requirements needed for a 911 operator and dispatcher in the state of Missouri and is also recognized throughout the United States.

The 10-week course will consist of 40 hours of classroom instruction along with a practical lab and an observation period with Boone County Joint Communications. This class meets weekly on Tuesday/Thursday plus additional practical lab and observation times will be required and scheduled individually. Call or email for more information.
