Moberly Area Community College (MACC) is pleased to announce several academic and campus leadership appointments. Following the retirement of Dean of Academic Affairs Matt Crist, the College reorganized its Academic Affairs division into the new Arts and Sciences division and made several related leadership appointments to support instruction and student services across MACC.
Katelyn Wilson has been named Dean of Arts and Sciences. A 2006 graduate of Moberly Area Community College, Wilson began her career at MACC in 2008 as an Academic Advisor in Columbia. She soon transitioned to Assistant Director of MACC-Columbia before accepting the role of Director of Academic Services at the Moberly campus in 2013. In 2022 she was promoted to Associate Dean of Instruction. Throughout her career, Wilson has demonstrated a commitment to student success and academic excellence, making her a natural choice to lead the College’s Arts and Sciences division.
Effective July 1, 2026, Renee Hall has assumed the role of Associate Dean of Instruction. Hall will continue to maintain her primary office at the MACC-Columbia campus, where she has served as Director of Instruction for the Columbia campus. In her expanded leadership role, she will support instructional excellence across the College and serve as the College’s Title IX Coordinator, overseeing institutional compliance with Title IX and related policies. Hall taught full time at MACC from 2005 to 2015 and served as an adjunct instructor from 2015 to 2023 before becoming Director of Instruction for the Columbia campus.
Tina Hying has been promoted to Director of Instruction after serving as Coordinator of Instructional Operations. During more than 12 years at MACC, Hying has held a variety of academic support positions and has played an integral role in coordinating instructional processes and supporting faculty. Her institutional knowledge and dedication to academic quality position her well for this leadership role.
In addition to the Academic Affairs changes, MACC has announced several campus leadership appointments.
Josie Slater has been promoted to Campus Director at MACC-Hannibal effective June 16. A Moberly native and former MACC dual credit student, Slater joined the College in July 2023 as an Academic Advisor/Resource Coordinator in Hannibal. She spent two years based at MACC-Hannibal and the following year at MACC-Moberly, supporting students across the College in both roles. Her experience supporting students across multiple campuses and her familiarity with the College make her well-prepared to lead MACC-Hannibal.
Slater succeeds Wendy Johnson, who has accepted the newly created position of Director of Workforce Partnerships. This grant-funded role, developed in partnership with the Hannibal Regional Economic Development Council (HREDC), will focus on strengthening relationships between the College and regional employers while expanding workforce training opportunities to meet local industry needs. Wendy brings 27 years of service to MACC, including 26 years as Director of MACC–Hannibal, where she has been instrumental in building strong connections between the college and the regional community. Her work has consistently focused on creating opportunities that support both student success and regional growth.
MACC also welcomes Trudy Denham as the new Campus Director for MACC-Mexico. Denham returns to the area after spending the past 10 years as Associate Professor of Visual Art at Chadron State College in Nebraska. She brings extensive experience in higher education leadership and instruction and will officially begin her role on Monday, August 10.
“These leadership appointments reflect the depth of talent within our organization while also bringing valuable new perspectives to MACC,” said Dr. Todd Martin, President of Moberly Area Community College. “Each of these individuals has demonstrated a commitment to serving students and our communities, and I am excited to see the positive impact they will have as they step into these important roles.”
The appointments reinforce MACC’s ongoing commitment to providing exceptional academic programs, student support, and community partnerships throughout central and northeast Missouri.
