Veterans Day Ceremony
November 11 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
MACC-Moberly will host its 2022 Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11, at 11:00am in the MACC Auditorium on the Moberly campus. The College annually honors the many veterans among their faculty, staff, and student body. MACC would like to invite the general public to join them for this free event.
The featured speaker for this year’s ceremony is Mary Paulsell, co-founder and president of Central Missouri Honor Flight. CMHF was founded in late 2008 and made its first flight in May 2009. It completed its 65th mission on October 24, now having had the privilege of transporting more than 5,200 Missouri veterans to the nation’s capital.
Mary is a native of Columbia. She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English, Journalism and Communication. She and her brother, Steve, who serves as CMHF vice president and flight director, are the children of a US Army Silver Star veteran, Lee Paulsell, who served in the 84th Infantry Division during the Battle of the Bulge. Mary worked at the University of Missouri for 40 years. She retired in January 2021. She is mom to Irma, the full-figured beagle, and enjoys spending her time with many dear friends and with Steve and his wife, Sharon, who serves as logistics and supply chief for CMHF and is the mother to a Green Beret veteran. Mary is active in local politics and theatre, serves on the board of the Friends of the Mid-Missouri Fisher House, is a volunteer for the Missouri Veterans History Project and Columbia’s Military Morning, and is active in animal rescue.
The Veterans Day Ceremony will also include the Moberly High School JROTC Color Guard and MACC Singers.
MACC welcomes the public to attend this ceremony honoring the brave men and women who served our nation in the Armed Forces.
