Articulated Credit for Career & Technical Programs

Accelerate your MACC Career & Technical Education Program through Articulated Credit.

Articulated Credit is college credit granted for some introductory-level college courses within a MACC Career & Technical Education (CTE) program. It recognizes concepts learned from completing a secondary CTE program at a vocational-technical school or comprehensive high school. Articulated credit eliminates the duplication of learned concepts. Best of all, it is FREE MACC college credit for students who meet the following qualifications:

  • Complete a secondary CTE program. *
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in a secondary CTE program.
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 in four years of high school.
  • Enroll in an Associate of Applied Science degree or 32 credit-hour certificate program related to the secondary CTE program.
  • Complete an application for articulation with MACC.** Applications can be requested from your advisor or by contacting the Workforce Development & Technical Education Department at WDTEOffice@macc.edu or (660) 263-4100 x11397.

*Students who have completed one year of a two-year secondary program may qualify for Credit by Examination.

**All developmental coursework and twelve (12) college-level credit hours of 100-level or higher with at least a 2.0 GPA must be completed with MACC before articulated credit will be added to college transcripts. Articulation credit is not used in college GPA calculations. Articulation must take place within two (2) years of high school graduation or secondary career-technical program completion.

Formal agreements are listed below. Students from programs or schools without formal agreements can still qualify for articulated credit. Please contact Tina Hying, Coordinator of Academic and Career & Technical Education, at tinah@macc.edu or (660) 263-4100 x11397 for more information.
