The MACC Workforce Development Center (WDC) is dedicated to supporting workforce development, businesses, and communities within its reach. With a focus on attracting, training, and retaining a skilled labor market, the WDC offers a range of programs designed to equip individuals with skills for in-demand job opportunities.
One of the key strengths of the WDC lies in its provision of short-term certificate programs, short-term trainings, and customizable training solutions. These programs cater to individuals at various stages of their career journey — whether they are setting out on a new career path, looking to acquire specialized credentials for employment, or refreshing their existing skill set.
Here are a few of the training programs offered by the WDC:
Certified Medication Technician (CMT) – is designed to teach skills in administration of nonparenteral medications that will qualify students to perform this procedure to assist licensed practical nurses or registered professional nurses in medication therapy.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – is designed to teach skills in resident care which will qualify students to perform basic nursing procedures and to assist licensed practical nurses or registered professional nurses in direct resident care.
Insulin Administration (IA) – program is to prepare medication technicians in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or intermediate care facility (ICF), or medication aides in a residential care facility (RCF) or an assisted living facility (ALF) to administer insulin.
Professional Truck Driving – Earn Your CDL! This 200-hour program helps prepare individuals for a well-paying career in commercial truck driving. Individuals will gain the knowledge and skills needed to become an entry-level over-the-road truck driver.
Emergency Telecommunicator (911 Dispatcher) – prepares students to obtain their certification that satisfies the basic requirements needed for a 911 operator and dispatcher in the state of Missouri and is also recognized throughout the United States.
These programs are designed to equip participants with specific skills and credentials required in various industries. They are highly focused, relatively brief, cost-effective, and designed for practical application in work settings.
Many of the programs offered through the Workforce Development Center may be eligible for financial assistance through the Missouri Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant or SkillUp program.
