Eric Stisser is the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the St. Louis Blues. He spoke to MACC students about his role with the organization. He stated one of the biggest honors is to represent an entire city, especially as they recently clinched being the best in the world winning the Stanley Cup.
Eric expressed how important networking is in all businesses, but especially for those students who seek a career in sports management. Putting yourself in the right place at the right time is important, but more important is to capitalize on connections made. This was music to the instructor’s ears as the students are told the most important part of a call is actually asking for the desired action and doing a follow up.
Eric assured us that even though it is fun working for a sports team, it is still hard and competitive work. Sales are what those players’ salaries are paid from. It is obvious that Eric is good at his job. We thank Eric and the St. Louis Blues for their time.
