ATI TEAS (formally TEAS-V)

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS) is required in the application process for the Practical Nursing program at Moberly and Mexico, MO. The applicant must have a composite score of 58% or higher on this test to apply to the Practical Nursing program.

CLEP

CLEP exams allow people who have acquired knowledge outside the usual educational settings to show that they have learned college-level material so that they can bypass certain college courses. The CLEP exams cover material that is taught in introductory-level courses at many college and universities.

HiSET

The HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) certifies that the taker has high school-level academic skills.

M.E.C.A. (Mathematics Exit Competency Assessment)

The M.E.C.A. allows a student the opportunity to challenge and appeal his/her current mathematics course placement, which is based on ACT and/or Accuplacer scores. The M.E.C.A. is a paper-and-pencil, competency-based assessment that may be completed one-time-only for each course to place out of MTH010 or MTH100. The assessment is completed in a proctored environment with a two-hour time limit; upon completion, the assessment is scored by mathematics faculty using a skill-based rubric. Students scoring proficient on the M.E.C.A. will be allowed to place out of a mathematics course and, therefore, into the subsequent mathematics course in the general education course sequence. Please see an advisor at any MACC site for details and proctor schedules related to the M.E.C.A.

MEP/MoGEA

MEP/MoGEA is a required assessment for education majors.

NLN Assessment Exams (for Virtual Accelerated ADN)

These exams assess understanding of nursing care during the antepartal, intrapartal, postpartal, and neopatal periods. This is part of the admission process for the AADN Program.

Proctored Exams

A proctored exam is one that is taken under supervision. According to MACC's policy, a proctored exam must be taken at one of our MACC locations or by a pre-approved professional.

Writing Appeal

A placement test writing score that indicates a student must successfully complete a fundamental course in English / writing before enrolling in Composition I may be appealed by providing a writing sample in a proctored, timed testing environment. The appeal can only be attempted once and is scored by a team of full-time MACC instructors. If the appeal is granted, the English / writing preparation course requirement will be waived. See an advisor at any MACC site for appeal details.

WorkKeys
