My name is Chisum, and I am the newest paw-time staff member here at Moberly Area Community College. I am so excited because this fall, I will begin my role in assisting the Veterinary Technology Director Stephanie Gilliam (she’s also my mom) in teaching students enrolled in the program. I am looking forward to meeting my students and fellow furry friends from the Mexico Animal Shelter.
Right now, I am learning the layout of campus along with some basic commands. (In all fairness, I am still a puppy.) During the day, you’ll find me hanging out around campus, meeting new friends in class, or sleeping at the LARC. I think that the new Vet Tech program is coming together quite nicely. The first Vet Tech classes will start in the Fall of 2021.
Fortunately, much of the equipment needed for the program was made possible through grant funding, however since this is a new program, we still need to renovate a space and purchase things like examination tables, lockers and sterilizers.
This is where you can help me out!
Your contributions to the program would be greatly appreciated. You can partner with us in providing for this valuable program.
