Substitute Teaching Opportunities for MACC Students

If you have earned at least 60 transcripted college hours, you may be eligible to serve as a substitute teacher through the University of Missouri’s MU Partnership for Educational Renewal (MPER) Teacher Release Program. As a participant in this program, you would be paired with a teacher in a partner school district in the Central Missouri area. You would spend the first day with the classroom teacher learning about the classroom and instructional plans. Then, in scheduled weeks to follow, you would take over the teacher’s classroom for all or part of the day, as determined by your schedule and the needs of the school district. You would be paid a stipend of $80 per day for serving as a substitute teacher by MPER. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to gain valuable experience, especially if you have considered earning a degree in education. For participation in this program, you must complete the substitute teaching application materials through the Moberly School District (or other MPER Partner School District), including the Identix FBI/Missouri Highway Patrol Fingerprint Check. You must also complete and submit the Community College Student Teacher Release Application available at http://education.missouri.edu/orgs/mper/teacher_release.php. Applications are due by September 1. (NOTE: Not all applicants are placed/hired in this program.)
