Moberly Area Community College will hold its eighty-second annual commencement on May 20, 2010 at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. This year's commencement speaker will be Greg Walker, a long-time member of the Moberly Area Community College Board of Trustees. First elected to the Board in 1984, Mr. Walker is currently serving his fifth consecutive term.
During the 26 years as Trustee, he has held various executive positions, including President from 2000 to 2006 and both Vice-President and Secretary. At the state level, Mr. Walker currently serves on the Board of the Missouri Community College Association and will become the Board chairman this November.
In 2006, he received the Glynn E. Clark Distinguished Service Award in large part for his leadership in the statewide MCCA membership campaign in 2005-2006. A graduate of the Missouri University School of Journalism, Mr. Walker has lived in Moberly since 1973. Currently, he is owner of Vantage Capital Resources, a financial services company.
Mr. Walker is proud to have been affiliated with the success of Moberly Area Community College and its growth over the past quarter century. As a businessman and consultant, he recognizes the important role of MACC to the region. Walker says his remarks to the Class of 2010 will be focused on planning to meet the challenges of the next phase beyond graduation.
