MACC DEX Student Wins National Award
Lacy Peavler, a second year student at Moberly Area Community College, received first place honors in the National Management Institute competition offered exclusively at the Delta Epsilon Chi International Career Development Conference in Anaheim California in April.
The National Management Institute is both a forum and a competition that allows Delta Epsilon Chi students to learn about critical issues business professionals face each day. The perceptions and philosophies of experienced business professionals help Delta Epsilon Chi members better prepare for their roles as supervisors and managers. The theme and presentation topic for each year's competition are selected with input from the corporate sponsor and includes presentations by industry professionals and the Management Challenge.
“This unique competition tested Lacy's business acumen and her ability to think creatively and quickly. Lacy created a marketing campaign for a west coast clothing store that included the production of a virtual video, social network marketing, and the creation of a special "beach" event to develop brand and store recognition. MACC was the only college from Missouri that brought home a first place trophy!! Keep in mind that the majority of students competing in this international competition come from four-year institutions!” said Scott Taylor, Delta Epsilon Chi Advisor.
MACC extends our congratulations to Lacy on this huge accomplishment.
