MACC’s Workforce Development Center and Spartan Light Metal Products Team Up to offer Pre-Apprenticeship Program

MEXICO, MO – Moberly Area Community College’s Workforce Development Center (MACC-WDC) and Spartan Light Metal Products (Spartan) are teaming up to offer a free Pre-Apprenticeship program to area residents starting April 26, 2021. The Pre-Apprenticeship program is geared for individuals seeking career advancement or wishing to gain essential manufacturing skills that meet the industry’s current demands.

Participants will receive hands on training and gain useful skills that will prepare them for the workplace. Topics covered will include safety training, metrology, measurements, hand tool identification, power tool use, and more. In addition, participants will be able tour Spartan, learn of area apprenticeship opportunities, and receive assistance with resume and application review. Upon successful completion of the program participants will be interviewed by staff from Spartan as the company seeks to fulfil several full-time apprenticeship opportunities that will include additional trainings and benefits.

The MACC-WDC Pre-Apprenticeship program will consist of two training days that will take place on April 26, 2021 and May 3, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Courses will meet at MACC-Mexico, 2900 Doreli Lane, Mexico, MO 65265.
