Heather Walters Awarded the 2020 Health Science Department Scholarship for the MACC-Moberly PN Cohort
Moberly Area Community College - Moberly (MACC-Moberly) announced that Heather Walters has been awarded the 2020 Health Science Department Scholarship for the MACC-Moberly Practical Nursing (PN) cohort. The scholarship is awarded to a student seeking a degree in the health science field and the scholarship fund provides financial assistance to students seeking a Practical Nursing certificate from the MACC Practical Nursing program.
Students who receive this scholarship must meet requirements set by the Health Sciences Department at MACC, which requires a GPA of 2.5 and enrollment in 9 college credit hours or been rolled in all courses required for the health sciences program. This scholarship is renewable for one additional semester provided that the recipient continues to meet the criteria.
“Heather is a dedicated student and a great example of how students can stack credentials at a community college to reach their ultimate goal and fulfill their passions. We are proud to be part of her journey,” said Michelle Frey, Dean of Health Sciences for MACC.
“Receiving this scholarship is truly an honor. This will help tremendously through my journey of Nursing School. My plans are to complete the Practical Nursing program here at MACC and be accepted to an AADN program. Nursing has always been a passion of mine and it is a field that is forever growing and expanding. I am thankful that MACC has put their faith in me,to help support my goals,” said Heather Walters.
