GREYHOUND WOMEN FILL ROSTER
The Moberly Area Community College Greyhound Women filled their final open scholarship with the signing of Anna Stewart in late June according to a recent announcement by head coach Chad Killinger.
“Anna is a strong guard that can play all three perimeter positions,” said Killinger. “We were fortunate to find such a versatile player in the middle of the summer and adding her will help our depth.”
Stewart, 5-9, is a graduate of Kennesaw Mountain High School in Kennesaw, Georgia and was named honorable mention All-Region this past season as she averaged 15 points and five rebounds per game. As a freshman, Stewart was a member of the St. Francis High School basketball program that won the Georgia Class A Private School State Championship. She was also a member of the same Georgia Pistols AAU program as future MACC freshman Brianna Perry, who signed with the Greyhound Women earlier this spring.
“It should help to have some players who have a familiarity with one another,” said Killinger. “Anna played in a very competitive region in high school and the types of players she faced on a consistent basis should have her prepared to compete at the junior college level. She did have some Division I interest throughout her high school career and we need to continue to push her towards reaching that potential while she is at MACC.”
The signing of Stewart gives the Greyhound Women nine freshman, to go along with six returners, for next season.
