College & Career Fair
Moberly Area Community College will host a free College and Career Fair in Columbia at Parkade Center on Wednesday, October 28 from 10am to 2pm. The event is open to the public and will feature over 70 regional employers and colleges.
"This event is designed for anyone looking for a job, an internship, learning about post-secondary educational opportunities, or just thinking about changing careers or going back to school," said Pat Reily, director of MACC Career and Placement Services (CAPS).
Regional universities and technical schools will be onsite, along with a wide range of employers from healthcare and manufacturing to government and military sectors. A variety of career planning services will be available to provide counseling and job skills advice. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and be prepared to interview with prospective employers.
Workshops Available to Prepare Students
Honors organization Phi Theta Kappa and CAPS will host scholarship application and resume writing workshops in the days leading up to the event. Attendees will learn resume building skills and hear scholarship application tips during student and staff-led presentations. Workshops will be held at the following locations:
- Moberly Campus, Friday, Oct. 23, 1pm to 4pm in the LARC
- Columbia Center, Monday, Oct. 26, 3pm in Room 206
