Financial Aid Makes College Affordable!
The Financial Aid department at Moberly Area Community College is hosting Financial Aid Day to show just how affordable a college education can be. Specialists will be available during two sessions from 10AM-12PM and from 2-4PM on Friday, July 24 at the MACC Activity Center at 101 College Avenue in Moberly.
The event is free and open to the public.
"Even if you have never applied for admission or enrolled in college, come to this event and learn how you can access an affordable college education at MACC," said Amy Hager, MACC Financial Aid Director. "We will explain how to get the greatest return on your invested time and money when you attend MACC."
There are billions of dollars available from the U.S. Department of Education for students across the nation. Friday's event will provide helpful tips to current or potential students on how to access financial aid to pay for their college tuition. Students and families will receive valuable assistance in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well. The application is the first step in applying for federal financial aid and state programs.
Hager cautions applicants to stay away from websites that require money to complete the FAFSA forms. The process and forms are free. There is no charge for either when using the federal website at fafsa.gov.
"We know paying for college can seem scary, but our staff is highly experienced and ready to help explain exactly what you need to know about using financial aid," Hager continued. "We'll calculate how much financial aid you'll need to finance your education at MACC and provide hands-on assistance for you to complete loan applications, if needed."
College classes at MACC start on August 17. For more details on the Financial Aid event, call 660.263.4100 ext. 21002 or visit macc.edu.
