College Awards Nursing Scholarships
Moberly Area Community College Allied Health Department recently awarded Career/Technical Department Scholarships to two Practical Nursing students.
Recipient Christina Deener, of Jacksonville, has been an emergency medical tech with Randolph and Monroe county ambulances for 9 years. She plans to continue her education to become a Registered Nurse in an emergency department. She and her husband Derek have two daughters.
Recipient Jennifer Boyd (Techau), grew up in the Macon area and has one daughter. After receiving her Licensed Practical Nursing certification, she hopes to gain experience in a variety of areas and then continue in the Associate Degree Nursing program to become a Registered Nurse.
Two MACC Departmental Scholarships from each career or technical program are awarded to students who are actively pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in one of the scholarship's listed programs. Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve college-level credit hours per semester and meet grade point average criteria. The $300.00 scholarship is renewable for three consecutive semesters.
