Turk to Join College Board of Trustees
The Moberly Area Community College Board of Trustees will appoint a new member to the Board during Monday's regularly scheduled meeting.
Lori Turk was chosen by the Board to fill the vacant seat of Rodney Loesch, who resigned his position after permanently moving out of the taxing district.
"Lori's background in health care, and having owned her own business, makes her a natural fit for the College. She most certainly is a welcome addition to the Board," said James Cooksey, Board of Trustees President.
Turk received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and formerly owned and operated Moberly Radiology and Imaging. She is currently the Vice Chairman of Run For Her Life, an annual 5K run in its 6th year, which raises awareness and funds for early detection of breast cancer. She has also served on the following Boards: Rotary Club (President), Safe Passage (President), Moberly Public School Foundation (President), Coates Street Presbyterian Church (Deacon) and the YMCA. Turk resides in Moberly and has two sons.
"I see education as a springboard for our youth, as well as for those who are looking for a career change or the next step in their future," said Turk. "It's a real honor to be appointed to sit on the Board and I appreciate the opportunity to give back to the community and challenge myself in new areas."
"I'm very much looking forward to working with Lori," said MACC President Dr. Jeff Lashley. "She brings with her great experience in several different leadership capacities and obviously has a strong commitment to our community and the people we serve."
