Impacts to Military Financial Aid


The following is an update from the Moberly Area Community College Financial Aid department regarding Federal aid to MACC military and veteran students as a result of the government shutdown.

There will be no interruption of benefits to soldiers who were already approved for Federal Tuition Assistance for classes beginning prior to October 1. However, funding is not available, regardless if a soldier is approved or not, for classes that begin after October 1. Therefore, any soldiers enrolled in 2nd 8-week classes will not receive funding for these classes at this time. Whenever a budget is passed which ends the shutdown, FTA administrators will re-evaluate their funding appropriations and determine funding availability from that point forward.

At this time, there is no interruption of payment for veteran's benefits for all chapters of the MGIB Education Benefits and Post-9/11 GI Bill®. Payment of tuition, books and stipends/BAH are expected to continue as normal.
