Health Careers Open House Held at Kirksville Area Tech Center
Moberly Area Community College and the Kirksville Area Technical Center are teaming up to host a Health Careers Open House on September 26 from 5 - 7 pm in room 25 of the Kirksville Area Technical Center.
Attendees will have a chance to visit with students and faculty from Kirksville’s newest healthcare education partnership. Interested students will be able to go through the application and financial aid process during the open house.
Students can earn a practical nurse certificate from the Kirksville Technical Center and transfer to MACC's Virtual Accelerated Associate Degree Nursing Program upon obtaining their Practical Nursing license.
This is a virtual/hybrid accelerated associate degree nursing program designed for LPNs to further their training and career. It is open to any LPN that meets the criteria and has the pre-requisites completed.
"I am so excited to be a part of the Kirksville community, MACC and the new virtual/hybrid AADN program. Todays students want interactive, hands-on learning not a passive classroom lecture and that is what this program offers. Classes that are real-time online and interactive coupled with face to face clinical experiences and state of the art lab simulations."
The Open House attendees will see demonstrations of the Elluminate platform for virtual learning and the SimMan and SimBaby – the program’s simulation mannequins. Participants can also tour the classroom and lab areas. There will be snack foods, prizes as well.
Classes for the AADN program begin January 2, 2013. The deadline for admission is November 1.
