MACC Faculty Member Receives Excellence in Teaching Award
Renee Field, a faculty member at Moberly Area Community College, received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in Jefferson City on Wednesday. The award was presented at a luncheon sponsored by the Missouri Community College Association.
Ms. Field is an assistant professor of language and literature whose student-centered approach to teaching has earned her the respect of students, faculty, and administrators. She is committed to ensuring that each student leaves her class prepared to take the next step in their educational journey. Ms. Field has served as the chair of the general education assessment panel for three years. In that capacity, she has helped her colleagues see the true value of assessment of student learning.
Missouri’s community colleges are governed by locally elected boards of trustees. The colleges work together to advance common agendas through the Missouri Community College Association, or MCCA.
