About the Programs:
Practical Nursing Program (PN): The 12-month (1 year) Practical Nursing (PN) certificate program provides both academic content and clinical experiences to prepare students to work in a variety of structured health care settings. Upon graduation from the MACC PN program, graduates will be able to work as client caregivers under the supervision of a Professional Registered Nurse or a Licensed Physician. The purpose of practical nurse education is to help the student to acquire those attitudes, skills, and knowledge essential to the role of a competent practical nurse. MACC’s PN program also offers intravenous therapy content and provides certification as outlined by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
Surgical Technologist Program (ST): Graduates of MACC’s Surgical Technology Program are prepared to provide quality patient care during the perioperative period. A key objective of the program is to provide skilled, professional practitioners to the surgical practice community. Practitioners are provided with a framework for lifelong learning through the program. After completing the program, students are required to take the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) exam.
