The Honors Program is designed for students who excel academically. Honors courses allow you to engage in unique projects and learning situations that are challenging and stimulating. Honors courses do not require more work; the purpose of an Honors course is to offer high achieving students the opportunity to participate in engaging and creative learning environments that extend beyond those of the regular classroom.
The Honors curriculum consists of special sections of general education courses as well as specialized transfer courses. No additional cost is associated with Honors courses.
Students who want to participate in the program must meet one of the following criteria:
Honors courses are denoted by the letter “H” following the course number in the college catalog and course schedule. Syllabi for these courses may be viewed at under the Common Syllabi.

To earn an Honors Certificate while studying at MACC, you must complete an Associate’s degree and the following:
MACC students who graduate with the honors certificate are accepted into the MU honors program.
