CMU Counseling Center at MACC - Columbia
Free counseling is available on the MACC-Columbia campus for all MACC students through a partnership with Central Methodist University. The Clinical Counseling Center is staffed with CMU graduate students who are in their final year of the counseling program, and are under the supervision of the practicum instructor, clinical supervisor and the clinical director.
To schedule an appointment, call (573) 234-1067 ext. 12270 or email . The center is located in Parkade Room 132. A referral is not necessary to make an appointment, and walk-ins are always welcome during open hours.
Personal and confidential counseling helps students address issues such as the following:
- · self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth
- · adjustment issues (starting college, moving, new job, etc.)
- · test anxiety
- · stress
- · relationships (family, friends, partners)
- · depression
- · anxiety
Hours, Location, and Contact
Students attending other MACC campuses must be willing to travel to the Columbia campus for appointments. If long-term or more intensive therapy is deemed necessary, the counselor can make an appropriate referral to an off-campus provider.
