MACC-Columbia Student Receives DESE’s 2021 Breaking Traditions Regional Award

Moberly Area Community College – Columbia (MACC-Columbia) Practical Nursing (PN) student Toby Clark of Columbia, MO has been named the region #2 recipient of the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Breaking Traditions Award.
The Breaking Traditions Awards are sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to recognize outstanding non-traditional career and technical students and the adults who support them. 1
Upon completion of the practical nursing program, Mr. Clark plans to enroll in MACC’s Accelerated Associates Degree Nursing (AADN) program to further his degree and have the opportunity to work in the Critical Care Unit at MU Health Care. Eventually, Mr. Clark would like to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to administer anesthesia in various surgical situations.
