Canvas is the Learning Management System (LMS) by Instructure that MACC uses to deliver online and virtual instruction as well as provide a variety of other resources and training opportunities to students, faculty, and staff.

Get Started
Select the appropriate toggle button below. How do I access Canvas?
Log into MACC’s Canvas with your MACC username and password. If this is your first semester at MACC, then it may take up to 24 hours after you enroll for your Canvas account to be activated. Until it is activated, you may not be able to log in.
Canvas Orientation
On-demand training and hands-on practice is available in the “Explore Canvas” module of the Student Resources course in Canvas. Live “Canvas Orientation” sessions are offered each year on-campus or virtually through Zoom. Three to four weeks before the semester starts, look for an announcement on your Canvas Dashboard for session dates/times offered.
These orientations are optional and designed to help students get familiar with Canvas before the first day of class. After completing an orientation, you should be able to set up and navigate your Canvas account, find course-specific instructions, resources, and assignments in a Canvas course, and engage with others through the online environment.
Student Resources
You will find up-to-date information from a variety of student support services, the Missouri Civics Exam, and a Technology Backpack in the Student Resources course. You may also be enrolled in other program-specific resource courses and student success courses as needed. Collectively, these courses are designed to provide you with information, support contacts, and up-to-date resources to help you throughout your time at MACC.
Where can I find the course(s) I just enrolled in?
Courses will be visible in Canvas starting on the first day of the semester. Please note, this “first” day may be different for different types of courses such as 2nd 8-week and Wintermester courses. To verify enrollment before courses are visible in Canvas, please go to “My Schedule” in myMACC and contact your Academic Advisor if you have questions.

Faculty Resources & Training
All faculty are enrolled in Student Resources, Office 365, and MACC-U in Canvas. You may be (or request to be) enrolled in additional training courses, such as Canvas Academy and/or Zoom School, based on your teaching assignments and other job duties. These courses contain self-paced interactive tutorials, tips, tricks, information, and in some cases opportunities to collaborate and share like students.
Course Development
All new faculty are enrolled in and must complete MACC’s Canvas training course. You may request a sandbox (blank) course shell to develop content and practice using technology tools outside a live course. Requests to copy content from a master course shell and/or another instructor’s course shell must be submitted to Instructional Technology and are approved on a case-by-case basis.
Teaching Assignments
Instructional Technology notifies faculty each semester when course shells are available. You can import content from you previous courses, sandbox/development shells, or master courses (upon request and approval).
