1. List your educational background, current major, and educational goals. I graduated from Lee's Summit North High School in 2009. I have been at Metropolitan Community College- Longview since the fall semester directly following my high school graduation. With a GPA above 3.5 I have been on the honor roll for three consecutive semesters and was invited to join the honor society in my second semester. I am also involved in our school's honors program. I am currently working toward graduating with my Associate in Arts with honors prior to transferring to Rockhurst University where I will major in Psychology.

2. What is your career objective? In the grand scheme of things, It would be my hope that I could obtain a career in social services. Though I have yet to decide on what exactly I would like my title to be, I see myself either working as a youth counselor or working in a rehabilitation center.

3. List and describe your activities in Phi Theta Kappa. As the Vice President of Fundraising I have organized and taken part in several fundraising projects. These projects include:

5. Why do you want to become a regional officer? Apart from the obvious benefits that come with being a regional officer, I mostly would like to take this position because I think the added responsibility will certainly enhance my leadership skills and challenge me to improve my time management and problem solving abilities.

6. Define leadership. Leadership is taking the initiative to motivate and inspire a group of people toward excellence and a common goal. Leadership is not only directing, but also consists in leading by example and treating followers with respect.

7. What kind of a leader are you? I tend to be a hands-on leader. I see it important to get involved with various facets in order gain insight. It is difficult to understand what areas need work if you are not familiar with the process or the people involved. I am also not oppossed to seeking other people's input prior to making a decision.

8. What would your friends say is your strongest attribute in dealing with others? My strongest attribute in dealing with others would be that I am straightforward. I find it easier on all parties to address any concerns or ambiguity early as opposed to ignoring tension. To be clear and consise is to avoid bad communication. However, this does not necessarily mean that to be straightforward is to be unsensitive. In communicating with my peers, I think it is important to imagine all perspectives consider various factors in order to come to a consensus.

9. If you are elected to office, what obligations do you believe you will have to the region? It would be my obligation as a representative of my district to uphold the values and reputation of my district as well as my region. To do so would require that I abide by the Honor Code, assist in setting goals for my district and the region as well as working with chapters to reach those goals and address individual needs. I should also maintain a role within my own chapter

10. If elected to office, you will be required to sign the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Code, which states that you will serve the region in a proper fashion. If one of your fellow officers violates the code, what action would you take? I feel that if I were aware of a violation it would be my duty as a representative of my district as well as the region to confront the officer guilty of violation. I feel it would only be fair to give them the opportunity to take the right steps toward resolving the issue on their own terms proir addressing it with the advisor and fellow officers. In the event that the officer choses to ignore my concerns I would then see it as my duty to address my concerns with the advisor as wells as the other officers so that the necessary actions may take place.

11. What can you offer to the Missouri Region and your district? I feel that my experience as a chapter officer has equipted me with the leadership, communication, and organizational skills required for this position. I, also, feel that as an unique individual I can bring a new and fresh perspective to the regional team. I have an impecable attention for details which results in the ability to foresee and, in effect, prevent possible issues from arising. These skills in conjunction with my willingness to devote my time are what make me the best person for the job.
