Although MACC is an open admission college, certain classes and programs require testing for various reasons. For instance, if you’re not sure how well you are going to do in College Algebra, taking the COMPASS is a great way to make sure you are placed in a math course that matches your current skill level. Below are the tests and schedules available at MACC.

ACT

The COMPASS or ACT test is required by Moberly Area Community College for placement into English and math courses.

 

MEP/MoGEA

MEP/MoGEA is a required assessment for education majors.

 

CLEP

CLEP exams allow people who have acquired knowledge outside the usual educational settings to show that they have learned college-level material so that they can bypass certain college courses. The CLEP exams cover material that is taught in introductory-level courses at many college and universities.

 

COMPASS

The COMPASS or ACT test is required by Moberly Area Community College for placement into English and math courses.

 

NLN Assessment Exams (for Virtual Accelerated ADN)

These exams assess understanding of nursing care during the antepartal, intrapartal, postpartal, and neopatal periods. This is part of the admission process for the AADN Program.

 

TEAS V

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V) is required in the application process for the Practical Nursing program at Moberly and Mexico, MO. The applicant must have a composite score of 58% or higher on this test to apply to the Practical Nursing program.

 

HiSET

The HiSET (High School Equivalency Test) certifies that the taker has high school-level academic skills.

 

WorkKeys

WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring "real-world" skills that employers believe are critical to job success. MACC students are required to take three parts of the WorkKeys test if they are graduating with an Associate of Applied Science degree or a Certificate.
