Governor Jay Nixon Visits MACC Kirksville Site
Governor Jay Nixon visited MACC's Kirksville Higher Education Center to announce his Training for Tomorrow initiative. MACC is currently writing a grant to receive funds from Training for Tomorrow. Part of these funds would go toward the creation of a bridge program for nursing students at the Kirksville Area Technical Center to earn their Associate Degree in Nursing with MACC. It's an exciting development for the region and Kirksville Superintendent of Schools, Pat Williams, and Kirksville Area Technical Center Director, Terry Jones, were on hand along with MACC Dean of Career and Technical Education, Dr. Greg Mosier, and MACC: Kirksville Higher Education Center Director, Artie Fowler, to speak personally with the Governor about the importance of the ADN Bridge Program. Legislators Wes Shoemeyr and Rebecca McClanahan were also in attendance as well as many Kirksville area business people, Truman University Administrators and MACC students.
