LARC Peer Tutor Training Receives Re-Certification
The LARC peer tutor training program has received re-certification from the College Reading and Learning Association. Every five years the peer tutor training program is submitted to the CRLA to assess the Level 1 training program. All LARC tutors meet CRLA certification by completing a minimum of ten hours of interactive, live, and real-time training. In addition, all tutors are required to log a minimum of 25 actual tutors hours before achieving certification. The College Reading and Learning Association reviews past certification documents to ensure tutor training programs continue to improve and grow.
All MACC students have access to FREE tutoring both in person and virtually. With 37 peer tutors staffed across all LARC locations, tutors can assist with a variety of MACC courses. Tutor schedules are posted on the LARC webpage, and virtual tutoring sessions are available by appointment. For more information or to schedule a virtual session, please contact Jill Gosseen, LARC Coordinator at 660-263-4100 ext 11310 or by emailing or .
