MACC Can Help You Start Your Business

6/1/15

If you have an idea for a business and want to explore what it would take to get it started, then MACC and Grow Mid Missouri have an opportunity for you this summer!

MACC is hosting a business start-up class for anyone in the region called Operation Jump Start. After taking this class, you will know whether or not your business idea can be a successful venture or not. Plus, the tools you will learn can be used in any other business idea you will have in the future. Operation Jump Start is a nationally-recognized program designed for the average person interested in starting a business. It includes both a traditional textbook as well as an online component to learn about the steps necessary to judge how successful your business idea may become....before you start! You will learn the best way to proceed and avoid common pitfalls when starting a business which can cost you money. In addition to the textbook and online resources, business professionals from the Grow Mid Missouri team have scheduled time for both group and individual class sessions. Physical attendance is not required, but regular check-ins are encouraged.

Grow Mid Missouri is an organization devoted to nurturing entrepreneurs in the region and has developed a program to help them succeed. Grow Mid Missouri has hosted many events resulting in over two dozen local businesses finding investment money to start or grow their business. As part of its commitment to the region and the support of MACC, Moberly Area EDC and the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce, this class is being offered to anyone at no cost!

The only requirements to enroll in Operation Jump Start through Grow Mid Missouri are:
*You must want to start a for-profit business in the local area.
*You agree to complete all necessary parts of the course by Monday, September 7 (Labor Day).
*If you choose not to complete the class timely, you will be billed $100 for the course materials.
*You agree to become a client of the MACC Small Business Development Center.

If you meet these four requirements, you will know exactly which steps to take next to get your business open! The class will not cost you any money. In addition, Operation Jump Start graduates will be eligible to compete in the next Grow Mid Missouri funding event held in the fall of 2015 in Moberly. These events match potential business owners with individual, private investors. We also work with local lenders to arrange traditional financing for business ventures.

Registration for the class are now being taken by calling (660) 263-5865 or email the Grow Mid Missouri team at . For more information about the class material, visit www.operationjumpstart.biz.
