MACC hosts Self Defense Class
Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols and self-defense instructor Brad Terry will teach a one-day course on Situational and Self-Defense Awareness on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Moberly Area Community College. The course will offer a comprehensive overview of situational awareness at home, work, and in day-to-day activities.
"This is a class that develops the mindset needed to make individuals aware of their surroundings," Sheriff Nichols explained. "If people are not aware of their surroundings they have a better chance of being victimized."
Hosted by the MACC's Entrepreneurship & Business Development Center (EBDC), the class costs $30 per person and will take place from 9AM to 12PM in room C37 at the MACC Career Center. Along with discussions on individual awareness levels and ways to avoid becoming a victim, instructors will demonstrate self-defense breakaway techniques.
Registration is available online at www.macc.edu/upcoming-events/moberly-events-ebdc or by calling the EBDC at (660) 263-5865.
