MACC Front Yard Becomes Art Studio
Last weekend, MACC hosted its fourth annual Art on the Block. An estimated crowd of 450 descended on the College to enjoy a day of free crafts and music.
Artists of all ages participated in twelve interactive booths including stone polishing, drip paint projects, spray paint graffiti art, chalk-making, tie-dyed t-shirts, theater mask design, and cookie decorating provided by Bratcher's Market.
The Liberty Jazz ensemble, Dave Byland and Logan Lashley, and Never Blue Avenue provided live music on the main stage. The Hometown Cloggers presented a demonstration on the front porch of the Main building.
Thanks to sponsorship from Orscheln Farm and Home, the Missouri Arts Council, the Moberly Area Council on the Arts and the Rollins Street Neighborhood Association, Art on the Block remains free and open to the public. Professional chalk artists featured at Art on the Block this year were Ray Craighead, Dr. Evelyn Jorgenson, Michelle Marcum, and Shelby Mobley.
