Faculty Member Ralph Gerhard Passes Away
Former MACC faculty member Ralph Gerhard passed away Sunday, June 30th at Moberly Nursing and Rehab. The visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00-7:00pm at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. In recognition of Ralph's deep affection for the College, his funeral service will be in the MACC Auditorium on Wednesday, July 3, at 10:00am.
In remembering Mr. Gerhard's life, MACC President Dr. Jeff Lashley said, "Mr. Gerhard was a long-time history faculty member and he and his wife Carol have always been tremendous supporters of all things MACC. I know it is very meaningful to his wife, Carol, that the service will be held here on campus. There has never been a better historian and few had his knowledge of MACC or Randolph County. Ralph was a great friend and teacher to so many people. He will be sorely missed."
Ralph taught history and geography at MACC for 35 years. While not a native of the area, he authored a number of volumes delving deep into the history of Randolph County and could often be found reviewing articles and artifacts at the library or Historical Society.
Donations are requested in his name to the MACC Foundation or the Randolph County Historical Society.
