MACC Presents “Shop for the Arts”
The sales are over and your shopping list still isn’t complete? Was something missing under your tree this year? If so, there’s still time to grab some amazing bargains and make a difference!
The Moberly Area Community College Endowment for the Arts is hosting Shop for the Arts on February 4th for listeners in Mid-Missouri. It's easy to be a part of the auction. No fancy clothes and no braving the weather are required. Just tune in to KWIX (AM1230) and KIRK (99.9) from 7-10AM or KRES (104.7) from 7-9AM to bid on-air for exciting packages and services at a fraction of their cost. Every dime goes toward promoting artistic and cultural events at MACC’s seven locations in northeast Missouri.
What if you're outside the listening area? You can still be a part of the auction. Starting Sunday, February 5th at noon, selected items will be available for auction at www.maccarts.org. You can go to the website now to check out all of the items available. We’re adding items everyday. You’ll be able to purchase items like a one-year membership to Heritage Hills Golf Course, season tickets to the Greyhounds, Buchroeder’s jewelers gift cards, Houlihan’s gift cards, Yoga lessons or guitar lessons. You could book a band for your next party or company event. There are birthday party packages for your kids and Valentine’s Day packages for your sweetheart. Concert tickets and jewelry are all at a fraction of their retail cost!
In 2002, the old MACC Coliseum was remodeled to provide an updated and expanded space for Graphic Arts & Fine Arts education and presentation. After the new wing's dedication, MACC President, Dr. Evelyn Jorgenson introduced MACC's Endowment for the Arts to promote cultural events and artistic projects at the College. These events can be traveling exhibits, summer art camps, or special projects. The Endowment's recent projects include bringing Missouri's Poet Laureate for a reading on campus and funding for theater lighting and backstage equipment. The annual fundraising drive calls on arts patrons and corporations alike to continue and encourage the legacy of the Arts at MACC.
A special thanks to Howard Miedler and the team at Good Radio for donating the airtime for us and to all our donors for supporting the arts at MACC.
