MACC Students Honored by MCCA and Phi Theta Kappa

Two students from Moberly Area Community College were honored in Jefferson City Wednesday for outstanding academic achievement, participation in campus activities, and service to their college and community. The students were selected to be part of the All-Missouri Academic Team by the Missouri Community College Association and Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society.

The students honored include:

Stacy Donald. Stacy's always wanted to be a teacher, and her connection with Moberly Area Community College is making that dream a reality. She's working toward an AAT and wants to be an elementary school teacher. Her classwork also allowed her to connect with her local CASA organization, and now she's a Court-Appointed Special Advocate.

Brittney Patterson. Brittney works at Bass Pro for the marketing and special events team, babysits on the side, and takes care of her younger siblings. She's also a presidential ambassador and on the student advisory council, and the people she's worked for say she's tireless, and that they learned as much from her as they taught her.
Brittney was also named to be on the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team, which means that she is one of the top 150 community college students in the nation.

Missouri’s community colleges are governed by locally elected boards of trustees. The colleges work together to advance common agendas through the Missouri Community College Association, or MCCA.
