Professional Development Schedule

MACC intends to provide a quality, meaningful Professional Development program for all MACC employees. If you would like to see us offer any particular topic that would be relevant and valuable for you, please forward your suggestions to the Director of Human Resources. Professional development is very important for all employees to keep current in technology, legal issues, and other topics that help us do our jobs well and boost our morale. Every full-time employee is required to attend a minimum of 3 sessions each academic year. Please contact Human Resources at extension 11294 to register or as instructed below.

Canvas - Using the Gradebook and Using Assignment Groups:

The Gradebook helps instructors easily input and distribute grades for students. Grades for each assignment can be calculated as points, percentages, complete or incomplete, pass or fail, GPA scale, and letter grades. Assignments can be organized into groups for weighting as well. Learn how to use assignment groups to allow additional organization in the gradebook. There will also be discussion on using Google Docs for assignment submissions and group collaborations. Presented by: Rita Wheeler

Positions available in Moberly, MO:

SECRETARY/RECEPTIONIST - in Student Services. Full-time position requiring excellent customer service, communication, and telephone skills. Additional requirements include strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite), clerical skills, and organizational skills with the ability to successfully multi-task.

CENTRAL PROCESSING SPECIALIST - Part-time position, 19.75 hours per week: Monday through Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.; requires organizational and clerical skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to lift up to 40 lbs., operate office equipment, maintain confidentiality, and handle incoming and outgoing mail. A valid driver’s license is required.

CUSTODIAN - Experience preferred. Full-time afternoon/evening position at the Moberly campus. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty pounds and have a valid driver’s license.

MACC ACTIVITY CENTER EVENT STAFF - Looking for part-time seasonal event staff to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and some holidays. Must be dependable. Duties could include concessions, set up and tear down for events, cleaning, ticket taker, parking attendant, etc. Hours will vary, but less than 20 per week.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST – Responsibilities include working with the Instructional Technology team to support the daily operations of online programs and provide instructional technology assistance. This includes orientation, training, and support to faculty, staff and students in the proper use of technology resources. Familiarity with various technologies such as tablets, learning management systems, video/captioning software, and assistive technologies is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits.

PART-TIME ADA SERVICES NOTE TAKER - Associate’s Degree preferred. Applicants with some college course work and experience will also be considered. Ability to condense spoken information and record key points of class lectures and discussions is required. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work within an educational team and maintain student confidentiality. Proficiency with email and MS Word.

PART-TIME ADA SERVICES READER - Associate’s Degree preferred. Applicants with some college course work and experience will also be considered. Ability to accurately read aloud and/or verbally describe visual course content such as algebraic equations, charts, graphs, and animations. Familiarity with a variety of internet and software applications is necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work within an educational team and maintain student confidentiality
