Professional Development Schedule

MACC intends to provide a quality, meaningful Professional Development program for all MACC employees. If you would like to see us offer any particular topic that would be relevant and valuable for you, please forward your suggestions to the Director of Human Resources. Professional development is very important for all employees to keep current in technology, legal issues, and other topics that help us do our jobs well and boost our morale. Every full-time employee is required to attend a minimum of 3 sessions each academic year. Please contact Human Resources at extension 11294 to register or as instructed below.

Canvas - Using the Gradebook and Using Assignment Groups:

The Gradebook helps instructors easily input and distribute grades for students. Grades for each assignment can be calculated as points, percentages, complete or incomplete, pass or fail, GPA scale, and letter grades. Assignments can be organized into groups for weighting as well. Learn how to use assignment groups to allow additional organization in the gradebook. There will also be discussion on using Google Docs for assignment submissions and group collaborations. Presented by: Rita Wheeler

Positions available in Moberly, MO:


NURSING INSTRUCTOR – Faculty position teaching adult nursing courses for the Associate Degree Nursing Program on the Moberly campus. BSN required, MSN preferred. Three years full-time clinical experience in an acute care, high acuity setting within the last five years. Current undisciplined Missouri RN license required. This is a full-time, 9 1/4 month position with excellent benefits

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – full-time position in the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Center. Requires excellent communication, organization and clerical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to work with confidential information. Associate degree preferred.

ELECTRICIAN MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – Experience required as an apprentice electrician or journeyman electrician. Must have license or be able to obtain license in the City of Moberly. This position will also perform general maintenance duties, as required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. Full-time position with excellent benefits.

 


 

Positions available in Columbia, MO:


GRANT SPECIALIST – Two part-time positions, 19 hours per week, at the MACC-Columbia Higher Education Center. Must have exceptional computer, interpersonal, and clerical skills for data entry, reporting and office management.

MATH INSTRUCTOR - Master's degree in Math required; teaching experience preferred. Courses taught may include Intermediate Algebra, Statistics, Quantitative Reasoning, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Differential Equations, and Calculus I, II, and III, as well as developmental math courses. This is a full-time, 9 ¼ month position with excellent benefits. Position will be assigned primary instructional duties at the Columbia campus. Online and virtual instruction as well as travel to other MACC sites may be required. Position begins August, 2017. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

EVENING SECRETARY - Part-time position (hours are 4:00-9:00pm Monday-Thursday) at the MACC - Columbia Higher Education Center. Excellent clerical, organization, communication, and telephone skills required.

SECURITY OFFICER - Part-time position, approximately 24 hours per week (7:00am to 1:00pm Monday through Thursday) at MACC-Mexico. Experience preferred. Applicant must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), must pass a background check, and be willing to take first-aid, CPR/AED, and additional training as needed.

 


 

Positions available in Hannibal, MO:


ADULT EDUCATION AND LITERACY INSTRUCTOR – Part-time, approximately 10 hours per week. Bachelor’s degree with ability to obtain adult education teaching certificate. Prior teaching experience a plus. Will conduct program activities including teaching students who are studying for the on-line high school equivalency exam. Must be proficient with the use of computers.

 


 

Part-time College Instructors (Adjunct Faculty):


Availability of adjunct faculty positions is based on enrollment in courses offered at all MACC sites. Applicants will be added to our "pool" of adjunct faculty, with credentials kept on file for three years. A Master's degree is required for most subject areas, with 18 graduate hours in the subject area, and teaching experience is preferred.
