Introductory Conservation Biology Honors
3:00-4:25 Tues/Thurs

This course involves a study of the earth’s ecosystems and biodiversity as well as historical and current human impacts on these systems. The importance of conserving the world’s biodiversity is also discussed. Honors sections of Conservation Biology stress critical thinking and analytical writing.

Abnormal Psychology Honors

This course is an introduction and overview of a wide range of psychological disorders. Focus is on the history and definition of psychological disorders, theoretical perspectives on psychological disorders, and the causes, symptoms, and treatment of psychological disorders.


Eligibility Requirements:

• Have ACT composite score of 23, OR

• Have high school grade point average of 3.5 or higher
(on 4.0 scale), OR

• Have college cumulative grade point average of 3.5
or higher based on 12 or more semester hours of
college work

INTRO TO MILITARY SCIENCE I
(a partnership with Truman State University ROTC)

 

This is a 1 credit-hour online course which counts as an elective within the AA degree. The course provides an overview of the mission and roles of the US Army, the Reserve Officers Training Corps, the National Guard, the Army Reserves, and the Department of Defense in support of the Constitution.  Emphasis is also given on developing personal physical fitness.
