System Requirements and Course Specific Information FA16

 

Canvas:

ACC110 – Personal Finance:
Students will be charged a course resource fee of $120.00. This fee will provide students access to the eBook and the online CNOW Accounting lab. Technical requirements can be found here: http://connect.customer.mheducation.com/technical-support/

BIO101 – Biology:
This course utilizes a free open source textbook and purchase of LateNiteLabs ($76.80). Students may purchase LateNiteLabs from MACC’s bookstore or directly online. Directions will be in the course. System requirements found here: http://latenitelabs.com/system-requirements/

BIO205 – Anatomy:
Students will be charged a course resource fee of $110.00. This fee will provide students access to the eBook and online MasteringA&P lab. Technical requirements may be found here: http://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com/northamerica/masteringaandp/system-requirements/index.html

CIT101 – Computer Essentials:
Students will be charged a course resource fee of $110.00. This fee will provide students access to the eBooks and the online SAM lab where students will work in a virtual Office environment. Students will need access to Microsoft Office 2016 or can register for the Office 365 student edition at no charge. HST105 – American History to 1865:
No special requirements for this course. Students will be asked to acquire their own textbook. MACC Booklist can be found here: http://www.macc.edu/macc-book-list

LAL101 – Composition I:
No special requirements for this course. Students will be asked to acquire their own textbook. MACC Booklist can be found here: http://www.macc.edu/macc-book-list. There are two books, one is the Mercury Reader ($93.30 – must buy at an MACC bookstore) the other can be purchased or rented from reseller or purchased at an MACC bookstore. It is called Writer’s Harbrace Handbook, Brief edition 978-1-133-0878-2 ($83.75 at MACC)

LAL153 – Contemporary Literature:
No special requirements for this course. Students will be asked to acquire their own textbook/books. MACC Booklist can be found here: http://www.macc.edu/macc-book-list

MTH140 – College Algebra:
Students will be charged a course resource fee of $100.00. This fee will provide students access to the eBook and MyMathLab, an online homework and resource area. MUS105 – Music of America:
Students will need to have access to YouTube videos and a headset or speakers for listening to music in the classroom. They will be charged a Course Fee of $100.00. This will include access to the eBook and a free Spotify playlist of the required music.

PHI152 – Ethics:
No special requirements for this course. Students will be asked to acquire their own textbook/books. MACC Booklist can be found here: http://www.macc.edu/macc-book-list

PSY101 – Psychology:
No special requirements for this course. Students will be asked to acquire their own textbook/books. MACC Booklist can be found here: http://www.macc.edu/macc-book-list The Revel code at an MACC bookstore is the most economical option for students. Check with your high school counselor for additional details.

SOC101 – Sociology:

SPK101 – Public Speaking:
Students will need access to recording equipment (such as a phone or a tablet) to record their audience of at least 8 and them giving their speeches. They will then need to upload these speeches to YouTube or LucasConnect (can be purchased with a new textbook). Specific directions are in the course.
