This resource center/computer lab provides FREE services to anyone residing in Northeastern Missouri desiring career direction.
Services to Employers
Services to employers include job postings on our online Job Opportunities (Link to Job Opps) board as well as our on-site bulletin board, annual Career Expo,(links to Career Expo homepage) and referral to job openings.
Services to Students
The Director of Career & Placement Services provides career counseling, vocational assessment, self-management skills training, and occupational information support in addition to job placement assistance to students and alumni, internship assistance, employer information and job search skills training. She administers the New Traditions Program and is available by appointment at the Moberly Campus and at MACC off-campus sites. The Career Specialist provides information and orientation, assists students with computers and multimedia resources, schedules tutors, and schedules appointments with the Director of Career & Placement Services. Contact Elaine Avery at 660-263-4110 ext 319.
Hours of Availability
Year-Round, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some evening hours while classes are in session.
On-line Resources
Kuder® Career Planning System This computerized vocational assessment can be accessed from any computer with Internet capability. Students may take several career inventory surveys to help make informed decisions about career and educational choices. Contact Pat Twaddle's office for log-in and password information.
Choices Planner® This on-line program provides vocational assessment, career exploration activities, and databases of all the post-secondary schools in the United States, job descriptions, and over 2,000 scholarships. Contact Pat Twaddle's office for log-in and password information.
Because no classes are scheduled in the computer lab, it is accessible to students throughout the day. The computers are equipped with Windows XP, Office XP, WinWay Resume, Choices CT, CareerScope, Plato and software specific to some classes. The machines are all linked to the Internet and a laser printer.
Other resources include a variety of career related videos, audiocassettes, CD-ROMS, books, periodicals, free leaflets and brochures, free resume paper, and a variety of vocational assessments.
