Crime Statistics/Security Information

 

Types of Programs Designed to Inform Students and Employees About Campus Security Procedures:


Statistics concerning the occurrence on campus of the following criminal offenses and arrests in compliance with the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990.


All college personnel are involved in the MACC crime prevention program. Distribution of literature containing "crime prevention tips" has been established to promote security awareness among the students and employees.
The student/employee safety guidelines are made available to each student during registration and to each employee during the fall faculty/staff orientation. In addition, programs relevant to campus security are made available to both students and employees each semester.


Students and staff at MACC have the right to be provided with statistics concerning the occurrence on campus, in or on non-campus buildings and on public property (meeting the definition as described in (6) (A) of the act) during the most recent calendar year, and during the two (2) preceding calendar years for which data are available of the following criminal offenses reported to campus security or local police agencies:

 

  1. Homicide
  2. Sex Offenses, forcible or non-forcible
  3. Robbery
  4. Aggravated assualt
  5. Burglary
  6. Motor vehicle theft
  7. Arson
  8. Arrests and/or referrals for campus disciplinary action for liqour law violations and drug-related violations
  9. Weapons violations


Of the crimes listed in number 1-7 and other crimes involving bodily injury to any person in which the victim is intentionally selected because of the actual or perceived race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or disability of the victim, this data shall be collected and reported according to category of prejudice.
