2008 MISSOURI REGIONAL HONORS INSTITUTE

The Honors Conference was held November 14-16, 2008, at YMCA of the Ozarks, Trout Lodge, in Potosi, MO. The conference was hosted by Alpha Tau (Moberly Area Community College).

This year's conference theme was "Today’s Superheroes: Saving the World with Honor, Scholarship & Service."

  • Wonder Woman Takes on the Hallmark Awards by Susan Edwards, Phi Theta Kappa's Dean of Academic Affairs and Honors Programs, as presented at the conference.

    • The following chapters won the scavenger hunt and will receive:

    • Alpha Xi Chi, 100% off of one registration fee for the 2009 Missouri Regional Convention
    • Xi Zeta, 75% off of one registration fee
    • Alpha Pi Sigma, 50% off of one registration fee

    HONORS ACTIVITY: Let's explore the Paradox of Affluence! Journal your conference experience and submit it by email to Ann Parks, Missouri Regional Coordinator at AnnParks@macc.edu. Examine the YMCA grounds and surrounding area, conference activities, etc. and discuss your ideas in the context of the honors study topic and the Hallmarks.
