Certified Nursing Assistant - Challenges

In certain instances, as determined by Department of Health and Senior Services, an individual may request to take a CNA challenge exam through DHSS in order to be certified by the state to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The test consists of both a written and practical exam which must be performed in a licensed skilled nursing facility by an instructor who is licensed through Department of Health and Senior Services.

In order to qualify, the student must first contact Department of Health and Senior Services to determine their eligibility to challenge. If they are approved by DHSS and provide the original of their approval letter to MACC, an exam can be scheduled.

For more information on challenges, call or email Sarah Hardison at 660-263-5865 or .
