Certified Production Technician

mostemCertified Production Technician (CPT) program is a national recognized certification that prepares individuals for front line production work in manufacturing.

The CPT consists of the following four modules, in which students are eligible to receive four individual certifications:

  • Safety (10-Hour OSHA General Industry Card awarded upon completion)
  • Quality Practices & Measurement
  • Manufacturing Processes & Production
  • Maintenance

All four certificates must be earned to receive the CPT certificate.

 

CPT training is designed to:

  • raise the level of performance of production workers
  • assist individuals to gain entry level positions within manufacturing
  • allow current employee to increase pay and position within employed manufacturer

MACC’s CPT program is set up as a hybrid combining the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) curriculum and 36 hour hands on in seat or mobile lab component. The four modules will be completed online with an accessible full time Mechatronics instructor and mobile lab for students across our district.

The CPT is a non-credit certificate which can transfer as a stackable credential equaling four college credit hours for those interested in seeking the Associate of Applied Science degree in Mechatronics, Maintenance, Machine Tool or Welding at MACC. The credit hours will apply to:

  • Module 1 = Industrial Safety and Health (IND 103) 3 credit hours
  • Module 2 = Industrial Print Reading (AMD 110) 3 credit hours
  • Module 3 = Introduction to Manufacturing (IND 100) 3 credit hours
  • Module 4 = Fundamentals of Industrial Maintenance (IND 101) 3 credit hours
